Following a successful return in 2023, Rugby Vic is excited to announce a new partnership with the City of Greater Bendigo that will see the state’s premier 7s tournament return in 2024 and 2025.

The City of Greater Bendigo has proudly supported Bendigo Goldfields 7s since its inception in 2015, with the 2024 and 2025 iterations of the tournament continuing their October tradition.

The 2024 edition of Rugby Vic’s premier 7s tournament will take place October 19 & 20, with teams across Men’s, Women’s and Youth age groups competing in a thrilling display of skill, speed and agility for the title of Bendigo Goldfields 7s Champions.

The 2023 edition of Bendigo Goldfields 7s was the first since 2020, with 41 teams and 574 registered players from four states participating in 108 games of high-quality 7s action.

“The 2023 edition of Bendigo Goldfields 7s was a great success, with a record number of Men, Women and Youth teams lighting up the Rugby field for the first time,” Rugby Victoria Acting CEO Shelley Nowlan said.

“In an Olympic year and with Australia’s 7s sides showcasing consistent success on the world stage, we are excited for the potential to go bigger and better in 2024 and welcome more teams to Epsom Huntly.”

“We are delighted to confirm the City of Greater Bendigo will be home to Bendigo Goldfields 7s for a further two years,” City of Greater Bendigo Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said.

“The games always attract a passionate and excited crowd, and we cannot wait to welcome people from across Australia to enjoy our great city and this fantastic competition.”

Team registrations for the 2024 Bendigo Goldfields 7s will be made available from July, with further information available via the Rugby Vic website and social media channels in due course.
