U8 – U10

Victorian Rugby run a non-competition age group from 8 years old to 10 years old in a fun format for all abilities. These non-competitions are run for the purpose of introducing the sport of rugby, with an emphasis of having fun and everyone getting involved, rather then winning.

This is a great way to get your child involved in the great game of rugby in a safe and positive environment.

U11- U18

U11-U18 is structured competition rugby. All teams play in a round-robin competition which lead to a finals series in August/September.

The competitions cater for all who wish to get involved with the game, with many age groups broken down into "A" and "B" competitions.

The new competitions will be for U11s (ages 6-11) and U15s (ages 12-15) and will be played in the Touch 7s format. REBEL RASCALS is a program designed to learn the basic Rugby skills for five, six and seven year old children. Rebel Rascals will be delivered by Victorian Rugby Union Development Officers who focus on rugby skills and playing small sided rugby games. REBEL RASCALS will introduce beginner players to core rugby skills; Evasion, Ball handling & Tag defence that will set them up for a 7 a side tag game later in the season.

The activities are based on REAL Rugby experiences for all players – which is short for Rugby playing and coopetition that is an Enjoyable, Active and Learning.

The program also provides a great opportunity for parents to interact with their kids through the activities, have the opportunity to make new friends, learn about the game and spend quality time with their children.

All games are by nature – fun, safe and highly active and aim to provide the best environment for children to learn, develop and enjoy the game of Rugby.
